Robert Pollard doesn’t “do” alternate guitar tunings; is this true or false? I can’t imagine a scenario in which he’s sitting around tuning his guitar to DADGAD, open G, or another non-standard tuning such as that, so in that sense I’d say the statement is true. In today’s post, however, I’m going to explore another possibility: what if Pollard happened upon a guitar that was already in a different tuning? Would he pick it up and be able to come up with a song in that tuning? I’m willing to bet he would.
