GBV Guitar is essential for any Robert Pollard fan who plays guitar. The tabs are accurate, especially with respect to those on many other tab sites. I can spend hours on this site and never get bored. The best part for me is that you learn common chord shapes and patterns used by GBV which helps me learn other songs by ear.

There are so many places to find GBV tabs, but this one is ALWAYS accurate to my ears. Doug M. understands Uncle Bob’s crazy chord shapes and songwriting magic, and brings them to us mere mortals. He breaks them down in easy to digest tidbits, too. I love learning these amazing songs and jamming them with my buddies, so thanks for making that a lot easier, Doug. Also love that $$ goes to Pollard as well, that genius would be a rich rock star already in a fair world.

I am a huge fan of the GBV Guitar site! The care that Doug M. takes to tease out the various ‘Bob tricks’ that GBV returns to often is immensely helpful—this makes it a fun, doable process to mess around with all of the songs I love so much.

As someone who was in a band about 15 years ago, and who is now firmly enmeshed in the sort of adult life (kids, job, etc.) that doesn’t permit that sort of thing anymore, I REALLY appreciate what I get out of my subscription to GBV Guitar! I had found myself drifting away from playing the guitar as a regular habit in recent years, but I get very inspired by the tabs here, not only because GBV is (of course) the greatest band of all time, but because Bob’s playing style is so unique and interesting; to have a window into his process is pretty invaluable. I’ve also sort of “deconstructed” my own approach as a result, and I’ve actually written some songs for the first time in years! I don’t think that would’ve happened without GBV Guitar.

You’re doing the lord’s work cataloging the guitar work on GBV. Not only are the tabs well-written, professionally put together, and easy to navigate but, most importantly, they are correct! GBV Guitar is a GBV fan’s paradise.

GBV Guitar is an invaluable resource in that not only does it tab the classic and current favorites, but also includes the correct voicing of the chords used. Given the amount of GbV chord charts and tabs available on the internet, it’s daunting to find those that get it right. GBV Guitar strives to do so. I also appreciate the music theory and Pollard logic it imparts in explaining a chord progression or voicing.

It’s worth every penny being a member of your fine site. I’ve been able to learn some of my favorite songs and stay in touch with my instrument.
